My hometown has
undergone many changes in the recent years and the authorities are focusing on making it a smart city with
highly-advanced infrastructure and facilities. Recently, a public sports centre was inaugurated in the model town area of the city. Although the city had many private gyms but it
lacked the convenience and affordability of a public sports centre. I
came to know about it through a local newspaper. There was a special page that described the facilities and
amenities available at the sports centre. The sports-centre is
equipped with two different swimming pool for adults and kids. There is a gym with
ultra-modern equipment and machines. Along with this, the sports centre also has tennis, volleyball and basketball courts. There is a air-conditioned hall for yoga and meditation as well. There is a covered playground for kids and a small play area for
toddlers. This play area has been furnished with slides, swings and activity booths. I really appreciate the authorities for being so
thoughtful while constructing this centre as it
caters to the needs of people of all age-groups. I think this sports-centre will encourage people to
look after their health and
indulge in sports activities as the
modern sedentary lifestyle is making people
obese and
prone to various health issues. Having this kind of facility nearby will definitely have a positive
impact on people and they will surely
take advantage of it.
