A subject you did not like in school but have an interest in now.
- What subject it was
- When you studied the subject
- Why you didn’t like it before
Well, I was a good student in school and I used to score high in every subjects and my teachers always
praised my
dedication towards studies. I had a
keen interest in all the subjects taught in school except History. I
dreaded the concepts of learning about the battles,
memorising the victories of great kings, the achievements of dead people. I never understood the need of learning all these things and I always
considered history as a boring and useless subject as it teaches us nothing about the present
scenarios or any
problem-solving skills. No doubt, I had a good memory and I always got good marks in this subject but I never enjoyed learning it. But now, the things have changed. When I was in school, there were no history-based shows available on the TV. Recently, I
subscribed to a Netflix account where I watched several shows based on the history of England, Scotland, France and India. I was
intrigued to know how Britishers ruled over India for more than 100 years, how the
conspiracies were
fabricated in palaces and how the kings used to make policies for attack. These shows
arouse my
curiosity and I started buying books to know more about these events and figures. And now, I guess I have around a dozen books based on history of different nations because the shows and web-series provides only a glimpse of the actual events and to gain the in-depth knowledge, I refer to books. I can, now, say that I have developed interest in history and in all those kings, queens, emperors and martyrs. I must say I really enjoy reading history books now and I don't find it useless at all.
